Padrnos, Jan

Born on 01/02/1967, originally a mechanical engineer, who tended increasingly to architecture during his studies. After graduation, in the early 1990's, he worked in an architectural studio, then with a reputable foreign furniture company. He discovered the world of design and in 2000 he founded the company BLACKBOX s.r.o., which became a renowned manufacturer of small-scale series of furniture and street furniture.

He participates in displays of Czech design, in autumn 2000 he had his first solo exhibition in Gallery 6. He is regularly invited to representative shows of Czech design organized by the Design Centre of the Czech Republic abroad. Currently, he is a freelance designer. He collaborated with ELTON hodinářská, a.s., for which he designed wall and table clocks. Recently, besides designing /architectural studies of houses and interiors/, he is almost exclusively devoted to work for BLACKBOX s.r.o.
